A Season for Renewal & Recommitment

As we enter this most significant week, I find myself reflecting on the powerful themes of transformation and renewal. Regardless of your specific faith tradition or where you find yourself on your personal journey, this season serves as a universal reminder of the cycle of hope, perseverance and recommitment.
I was speaking with a pair of litigants recently who were struggling with transitioning through the Dissolution process and their new roles with co-parents- there is always hope and there is always the chance to do better. As Mother Teresa said, "if you want to change the world, go home and love your family." This season is a great opportunity for us all to do that.
NEED FOR HELP
In the legal profession, our daily lives and the families I encounter every day as a Family Court Judge- we all encounter seasons of difficulty... of struggle.... We can look outside and see the change from winter to Spring with the sprouting flowers. In the Jewish Faith, they experience the need for freedom and remembrance in the Passover. In the Christian and Catholic tradition, we recognize that the joy of Easter Sunday is inextricably linked to the solemnity of Good Friday.
It is a profound truth that we must often navigate the "Winters," "Passovers," and "Good Fridays" of our lives—the moments of sacrifice, challenge, and quiet reflection—before we can fully embrace the light of life and renewal.
LOOKING FORWARD
This week, I encourage everyone in our community to take a moment of pause. Let us use this time to:
* Reflect on the lessons learned through past hardships.
* Prepare our hearts to begin again.
* Commit to serving one another with renewed integrity and compassion.
* Know that you are not alone, this community is strong
I truly believe this and I hope that everyone who appears in front of me can experience this. Whether you are celebrating the Resurrection or simply welcoming the arrival of spring and the promise of better days ahead, may your week be filled with peace and a steadfast hope for the future.
Wishing you all a Blessed Easter and a season of profound renewal.
